The American Red Cross relies on volunteers to help us with our mission of providing care and comfort to those in need. All American Red Cross volunteers must complete both Basic Orientation Training and Introduction to Disaster Services. All disaster training is free. Adult CPR w/AED

Hours:   4.5 hours
Content:   You can be trained in Adult CPR by registering for the first four hours of most Adult, Child and Infant CPR; Adult CPR and First Aid; or Adult, Child, Infant CPR and First Aid Courses. Identifying and caring for breathing and cardiac emergencies for adults, teenagers and preteens; Use of an Automated External Defibrillator for a victim of sudden cardiac arrest; heart disease prevention and injury prevention.

Automated External Defibrillation Essentials

Hours:   2 hours
Content:   This course familiarizes participants with the use of an Automated External Defibrillation device for victims of a cardiac arrest. Participants will learn when defibrillation is appropriate, how to safely operate the device, and to identify precautions when utilizing an AED. This is a must for persons in the workplace with a duty to respond!

CPR and First Aid Challenge Exam

Hours:   1-3 hours
Content:   Pass written exams and successfully demonstrate the following: how to check a victim, rescue breathing, first aid for choking and CPR. To receive First Aid certification you must also demonstrate control of bleeding and splinting. Participants will be tested to the standards set by the ECC 2000 guidelines. All responsibility for preparedness rests solely on the participant.

CPR for the Professional Rescuer Challenge Exam
Course #:   32810-C
Hours:   3 hours
Content:   Pass a written exam and successfully demonstrate proper rescue breathing; first aid for an obstructed airway and CPR; use of a pocket mask, bag-valve mask, and two rescuer CPR. Participants will be tested to the standards set by the ECC 2000 guidelines. All responsibility for preparedness for the challenge rests solely on the participant.
Other:   For individuals who wish to be re-certified in CPR for the Professional Rescuer. Bring your pocket mask to the class.

Content:   Recognizing and caring for breathing and cardiac emergencies for adults, children and infants; two rescuer CPR; use of a resuscitation mask (pocket mask), and bag-valve mask. Also familiarizes participants with the use of an Automated External Defibrillation device for victims of sudden cardiac arrest. This course is recommended for medical professionals, lifeguards, aerobics/fitness sports instructors and public and private safety security employees.
