We believe that we can be a difficult people for our Savior to comfort. We turn to man instead of to our creator and redeemer. Our heavenly Father's heart is in anguish over how we have turned from him.
Our heavenly Father is longing to touch the wounded with His love.
The emotional healing retreat is for people who have been emotionally wounded. We need to give the loss of our hopes and dreams over to our Lord in order to embrace the life which Jesus Christ intends for us.
What is it? The "Anguish of Heart" weekend is an opportunity for persons to pause and examine their lives--their strong points and weaknesses, their hurts, desires, ambitions, disappointments, joys and frustrations. This is done openly and honestly in a Christ centered manner. It is a time for listening, praying, and seeking the Lord.
Scripture Says:
HE HEALS THE BROKEN HEARTED,
AND BINDS UP THEIR WOUNDS.
Psalms 147:3
Who is it for? Men and women who want victory in life through Christ and want to grow in their faith; those who have been emotionally wounded either recently or years ago will find the weekend equally rewarding.
What happens on the weekend? A team of trained Christian servants who have grown through this experience themselves direct the "Anguish of Heart" weekend. The content of the weekend is based on scripture and prayerful reflection.
The Structure of the weekend:
- Presentations: A man and woman share their life story related to different aspects of personal hurts that they have experienced, and how GOD has healed them.
- Personal Reflections: Each person is given private time to refelect and pray about his or her own experiences. This is a time to journal and seek the Lord privately.
- Small Group Sharing: This small group setting affords the participants an opportunity to share whatever they choose and receive compassion and support.
NOTE: The weekend is not a "retreat" in the sense of being a two-day withdrawal from the real world. It is a weekend of INVOLVEMENT.
